Why do features commonly found on black people feel "safer" on white people?
Black people are just now starting to be represented positively in media.
Our features seemed to threaten and intimidate others rather than tell our stories.
Lately, there have been a lot of "trends" inspired by the genetic makeup
of black people. Tanning is a way that white people attempt to achieve a darker complexion.
Lip injections are the way that people acquire big lips. Braids make an appearance among
the white population by names that no one has ever heard of. Our slang is very popular among
the younger generations. It's easy for white people to wear our culture as a costume because
they don't have to deal with the negativity surrounding it.

Colorism Within the Community
Prejudice against individuals with a dark skin tone--colorism. It has been embedded into all cultures for centuries.
Because colorism is based on a preference for lighter skin over darker skin, the idea of colorism
is not wanting to have features that are traditionally associated with blackness. Now, colorism is disguised as "preference".
Fetishizing Black Men
There are a lot of stereotypes that are directed towards black men. Nowadays, these stereotypes are fetishized.
Stereotypes such as black men being seen as "dangerous" and being able to give
white women mixed babies. In the media, mixed babies are seen as more desirable. They are "exotic" and "not too black".
Yet another way the world condescends blackness.
